A new project in the forest go to the bamboo beat!
maschierten Armed with machetes, we and two other Akha men only by 15 minutes through the jungle in search of large bamboo trees. This will cut down the trees and we could knock off the branches on the sides, the tubes hit in reasonable lengths, and then drag exhausting downward into the ground. Of course, it also had a neat, oppressive heat, but at least there were none more rain, as regularly in recent days.
could After lunch enjoy an original Max Akha massage: After the usual hour for lunch we went back to beat back into the forest, more bamboo. To this time was no longer there, because Rosa still felt ill, so he took her by motorbike to Chiang Rai to a doctor and eventually they stayed in a guest house to relax, she had allegedly got a cold.

build first we had to divide us into two groups. The others were allowed to beat the bamboo into strips or cut into different lengths.
My Group was allowed to dig holes for wooden posts that arise out later, the new bamboo fence should. We were busy until noon.
After lunch we went back two groups. The group mixed concrete from the cement and sand from the river bed, washed and collected large stones and walled with these materials a wall beside the road.
On this day We also based our new sleeping place in the house of an Akha family, each with two people with a family. Thus, our room looked:

Last project This week: repair road to civilization!
This time we had the morning to take our "lunch box" because we are not able to return to the village for lunch.
Then we walked out of the village to repair the bodies of the roads, where rain regularly washes away the soil, thus leaving real deep holes and trenches, which makes it difficult to drive to or from the village to go. On the way we passed through the village gate. Our village has two of them. This is not just a goal, but has here a very special spiritual significance. And there are a few rules: for example, one may not the past or remain are going through the gate, but you have to pass through it. Also not allowed to touch it and every year renewed the gate and there are different ceremonies that are conducted by spiritual leader and the residents.
had arrived at work then so we do things such as earth fill into bags and place them in the pot holes, dig a moat and put away a pile of dirt on the street. It's all a pretty messy business.
