24th 30 August've
This week I get at work is 2 new tasks:
1) A write short report on the automotive industry in Austria 2008/09
On Tuesday after work, I also had finally an opportunity to look in one of the major landmark of Taipei: the 中正 纪念堂 Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall . Here is the main gate with the inscription 大中 至正 "Da Zhong Zhi Zheng", which is against CKS 'ideology - "Great Centrality and Perfect straightness.
Chiang Kai-shek (蒋中正 Jiang Zhongzheng Jiang Jieshi or 蒋介石) is like the founding father of Taiwan and a national hero. After the Communists under Mao China more and more power emerged and 1949 final got the upper hand, Chiang Kai-shek fled with his followers on the island of Taiwan and founded the "Republic of China", because until the end he got his party claim to China and steadily pursued the idea to retake China.
on the large square in front of Memorial Hall are also outside the main gate 2 imposing building, the National Theater and National Concert Hall Hall:
This is the CKS Memorial Hall. The gate is open during the day, of course, and inside sits a large statue of the national hero.
On Wednesday after work I drove to 孔庙 Confucius Temple (Ch 孔子 Kongzi or 孔夫子 Kong Fuzi - translated "teacher Kong "):
After I left the temple trip evening at a laundromat finish washing clothes:
Thursday and Friday gabs nothing exciting, but at Saturday again until we went to the post where I return home sent my 13-kg Packerl order not later when. sheets for the flight home safely accumulating excessive luggage must. Well, however that I am the Susan (work colleague) already been warned that that was not even in the Main Post Office necessarily good English is spoken. In retrospect, this was again a real sense of achievement, could regulate everything in Chinese and I also only 950 NT (about 20 €) is paid, but also will last about 3 months until it arrives at home.
From the post office I went on foot to 西门町 Ximending to find what to eat. There I chanced upon a performance by young dancers and singers, what you see here, often times:
Later I then tried another and located near major attractions to the Longshan Temple 龙 山寺 - named after the landscape 龙山 Longshan (Dragon Mountain literally) in China, where the Longshan culture emerged. This is Wanhua 万 华 in the district - one of the older and more traditional neighborhoods. On the way I suddenly saw a large crowd and heard loud drumming. Had once again been lucky and came right past a drum performance. There I stayed for a while and looked at it.
2) began on Wednesday for me Telemarketing to: That means I must now accessible from 15:00 (due to time difference -> at 9:00 am Ö.) For the 3 Austrian companies call those who had expressed interest at some point in the market of Taiwan, and ask if still interested there already exists or whether what was done.

... and later on to directly adjacent 保安 宫 Bao-an Temple :

Then we moved to the temple:
Finally, I went again to the CKS Memorial Hall to be able to see it even once during the day and go inside.
Suddenly, then such a Squad Guard soldiers came over and I was also witness to the nightly flag ceremony where the flag is pulled down in place and rolled up.
And after the flag half an hour, pulled down and rolled up neatly and tied, they are then taken off again.
Then I went directly back into the apartment and waited for the evening program. Yichiun and Irene were in Keelung this Saturday, so I've taken with me and Michelle Anderson. We then went together to a bar where a few friends celebrated the farewell of him by a friend. And there I met many new people and of course new drinking games. After a few hours we went with the head of the bar to a club, and it was really expensive, think they said at the 1500 NT admission (on € 30). But with the boss, we came with no admission charged to pure, from wars, therefore, very interesting times, in such a VIP club to be. I got a little thirsty, but at some point and I just wanted to get a beer at the bar. I understood then 300 NT (about 6 €) for the bottle and gave the guy a 1000. But when I got back only a 100 and had to learn that the bottle actually cost 900 NT (about 19 €), the heart was suddenly in his pants. But luckily got Anderson with the matter and discussed with the bartender that it was a misunderstanding and I do not want the bottle. The guy was really loud and then complained - which really should not be a bartender. The bottom line but fortunately I got back the money I had and thirst after the incident, will do. Well, a funny story! Around 5:00 or so, some still went to the karaoke, but we are then driven home easy.
on Sunday after a long sleep I wanted to tackle something useful and I am driven to the last duty point in terms of sightseeing, the 国父 纪念堂 Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall .
Dr. Sun Yat-sen (孙逸仙 Sun Yixian) - also known under the names of Sun Zhongshan 孙中山 or 国父 Guofu = father of the country - is the founder of the Kuomintang party 国民党 KMT (one of the two major parties in Taiwan) and it is also the fall of the last Emperor of China awarded (Qing Dynasty). He also became the first Provisional President of the Republic of China and, together with Chiang Kai-shek, one of the two most revered national hero in Taiwan.

the memorial hall is surrounded by a large park where you can also see people almost always get dragon.
also from here you the best view of Taipei's absolute landmark, the Taipei 101, by 2007 the tallest building in the world:
the hall at night
Since the devastating typhoon Morakot (莫拉克 Molak) in August 2009 - the deadliest and most destructive typhoon in years with headlines in the international press - is at night on the 101, the inscription: "TAIWAN 加油. Jia you 加油 means something like "Cheer up!" or "Cheer up!".
Then I went home again. There, I got a phone call if I wanted to today with Yichiun, Irene Anderson and go with another friend of him bowling and that was obviously better than to sit alone in the apartment. However, we were late to the bowling, as from midnight to 8:00 morning, you pay only 10 NT (22 cents) per round, really very cheap. Was tired, especially when I thought because I had to get up on Monday at half past 8, but we were still up about 4:00 and it was a pleasant ending to the weekend.
