How To Compere For School Annual Day Function

Four Nights In Bangkok ....

Tuesday:

early in the morning I left my two French women who drove the train to Sukhothai. I had lunch with my flight to Bangkok. Well, my first day in Bangkok was sometimes a bit chaotic ...

came Sometime around 15:30 I arrived in my hostel, where I had booked an 8-bed dorm. To my Surprise, however, were only 2 beds are occupied and as these two were not there, I rested for the first time in a bit and tried mentally to arrive in Bangkok. Later, then signed up again my empty stomach to speak and so I had to get out. I was walking aimlessly down the street until I was approached after 50 m of a Thai, if I like something. As it is everywhere but warned of scams, I was just pretty skeptical. Finally, he offered me to bring me to a restaurant with Thai food and I followed him. And to my surprise he actually accompanied me to a small restaurant and then disappeared again without any ulterior motive.

After dinner I had planned to walk toward Go to Old Town, where the royal palace and some temples stood. So I walked and walked and I found out that Bangkok is really great. In a small orientation break I was approached by a tuk-tuk driver where I wanted to go for. Actually I wanted to go to prison, but said the driver, I should just call him a price and he brings me to the palace. (About 40 cents) with my proposal of 20 baht, he was ridiculous even relatively agree. On the way he said but he brought me to a tailor. There shall I gaze inside five minutes, he was waiting for me outside and then he would take me to the palace. I did this a bit skeptical, but when I got back, he wanted me to tailor a further shop bring and I was already angry and then debated and negotiated with him for a long time until I was too stupid and I finally just got out without paying, of course. He followed me for some time, but I ignored him and he finally disappeared. When I had my back so strongly oriented towards halfway, I found out that I was as good as at the beginning where I had gone off.

a subdued motivation I set off again, at least in the street with the big shopping malls, entertainment centers and to explore street markets. I went over there too, but at home I was totally me then. And after me there is a bus not brought where I was promised, I took in the end just a taxi back to the hostel. Yes, that was my first Day ...

Wednesday:

With new courage I walked back towards the shopping mall because I wanted to buy a new backpack. On the way I came by with a magnificent temple which I looked at me somewhat.
A Thai-kitten in search of enlightenment:

Then I walked through the campus of Chulalongkorn University arrived until I at noon at the Siam Center, part of the Shopping Center complex. Bangkok is home that is Asia's largest shopping Mall there. Which explains why I was there for the second time something got lost * g * - at least I passed frequently one and the same business. Sometime in the afternoon but then I found a new backpack for me and left makes the shopping district.

Back at the hostel recommended to me by a roommate, called necessarily a ferry ride along the Mae Nam Chao Phraya, and the River of Kings to do. I then made the same evening and it was really nice and very cheap-about 20 min ride for 30 cents.

rose near the royal palace and I tried on its own in a few attractions run past. And that night I finally learned that Bangkok was not walk well so easy to explore ... But at least I saw the Royal Palace from the outside and went through a seemingly endless night market directly adjacent to where everyone is really shit sold (can not be described otherwise).

left with the tuk-tuk I bring about 21:00 back to my hostel, where I went to shower quickly and leaving my backpack. Because I needed the 3rd wanted to try taxi option, I took a motorcycle taxi back to the old town where I was to meet me at 22:40 with Virginia, Melanie, and Ashley Taylor. Unfortunately I failed to make such a photo shoot of a motorcycle taxi, makes really fun. Ironically, the prices are almost the same, whether now taxis, tuk-tuk or motorcycle, only that it must negotiate with the latter two the price in advance.

to 1:30 then I was drinking with the girls and eat something and make plans for the next day. What is something strange in Bangkok at 1:00 am curfew. But there are a few illegal clubs that open longer.

Thursday:

This time was even really effective Sightseeing announced, which I was quite happy. First on the agenda was the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, the adjacent to the famous Emerald Buddha.
And the buildings are really impressive, very colorful, all murals and much gold and splendor.
We arrived just in time for noon prayer:

When Sprinkle with holy water and a bloom:
The Royal Palace:
It was really humid, we stayed in the afternoon for 2 hours in the hostel of the girls to rest. Then we took the (adventurous) Bus to Siam Center to us there in the new Harry Potter movie to see. The focus was, however, that we see the opening credits. Because in Thailand, there is before every film in a cinema about 5-minute film with the king, where all have to get up. And the cinema ticket was really extremely cheap, 80 baht for students (= about 1.70 €), and for extra length.

Then we went as the last point still known as the Skytrain to a rooftop bar near the Sala Daeng station. They are chic bars on the roof of a skyscraper, from where we had a beautiful view of the city.
admission had to stay free, but there was dress code and a beer, you pay slightly by 8 €.

But that's worth

Then we said goodbye to Taylor and Ashley and went back to the hostel.

Friday:

the morning I took the express boat back to the old town, where I met Melanie and Virginia for sightseeing.
This time, the Wat Pho was the program that is best known for the great Buddha lying.

108 illustrations on the soles of the feet are worked mother of pearl, 108 features where you can recognize an enlightened one.
For a small donation of 20 Baht (= 40 cents) you could buy a bowl of loose change and then I think about 40 coins in turn throw in the dish.

We then looked through the rest of the temple.
And it is constantly renovated or built new things. Here, two Thais in decorating the ceiling with gold ornaments.
Shortly before Melanie was starting from a Thai student for an interview in English asked that the need for their English classes, and their friends filmed the whole thing as proof.
Then we took a tuktuk to City Hall.
monks can be found everywhere. Just as there are in our military service, Thai men have a few months to serve in the temple. Starting
From City Hall, we passed the Wat Saket on the Golden Mountain:
probably schoolchildren waiting for their ferry:
Another temple or palace:
The Democracy Monument:
bought on the way I Pad Thai, a Thai noodle dish:
Then we strolled through the still Thanon Khao San, with its famous street market, where cheap souvenirs, clothing and can buy much else. And then I said goodbye to Virginia, which flew back in the evening to Paris, and took the boat back to my hostel:

I met later in the evening again with Melanie and another French girl Adele, something go to drink. However, we were apparently once again in the wrong direction.

When we arrived in Siam, we decided to go back to my hostel to look for there to be near something. For I knew that in the street behind my hostel not only the red light district but also some normal bars and restaurants were.
Determined, we went to a lively street, which looked promising. When I was approached by then but increasingly more and more Thai men and angetatscht who wanted to drag me into their bar, we found out that there probably was home to the gay scene. Therefore, we took the exit and quickly got into another bar along the road, where we drank a beer and then returned just before closing time to the hostel.
