Personal Supercomputer I7

second Week in Akhadorf

20th to 22 July

Monday:

from the weekly starting with the first time we went into the paddy field. This meant getting up early, pack lunch and arm :-):

We marched 20 - 30 minutes through forest, over streams ...

... and corn fields, until we arrived at our schießlich workplace: a slope of rice plants, weeds had to be weeded out (not the typical kind of rice field, where the water is).
Neils unfortunately was equipped with its flip-flops not quite ideal and he promptly slipped on the steep slopes in part on the way out from the bushes and pulled a neat cut. Fortunately we had our To the process of bleeding the same as Akha medicine put an end. To this end, he plucked a few leaves miracle, they chewed in the mouth to a pulp and spat them to the Neils on an injured ankle.
the morning, we liberated the fields as much as possible from weeds. Ato and To were preparing lunch in the meantime. Bamboo beat the two plates, cups and sticks, and cooked at the same time in the thicker tubes rice and noodles and tea.

our Oven:
Kettle and cup:
plates and cutlery:
After the mandatory lunch break, we were still working about 2 hours in the field and then we returned to the village.
After dinner we had to leave Neils Unfortunately, for family reasons. Therefore, it brought the to a moped to Chiang Rai.
We also got assigned a new host family and had to move into their cabins. With our luck and I got Janeke probably the farthest house from the village and our cherished "luxury" -Klo/Bad we had to give up.

Here a farewell photo of our place to sleep and our hostess:

Tuesday:

Since To over night in the village came back but only after lunch, we had our own discipline to continue working on the fence, where we last week had already built a part. After we were done and To also re-joined us, we cleaned the area around our dormitory and took the big banana tree in front of our toilet from a few seedlings to plant them along the wall again.

After work To himself, Taylor and Max still enjoyed playing soccer, not that they broke even after it started to pour again really.

Wednesday:

On the way to breakfast made us able to get a Akha Lady of the sky carefully. First, we did not know what she means until we found out that there was a partial solar eclipse:
After breakfast we were together then thresh rice. This work is usually done early morning at about 5 or 6 clock, but for us gabs an exception.

First, the rice is pounded out of the shell: Then the lighter hull sifted out: Then again crushed, screened again and, finally, the remaining tubes read out. We were allowed to take the healthier way, black rice. And this is the final result of:
the rest of the day we spent so pleasant to learn Akha handicraft arts, such as embroidered bracelets or chains or ribbons produced from seed.
Here you see the way traditional Akha dress. This should not be worn in the rain and not washed, because everything else is black and no longer looks nice.
the Evening we had something in common with Akha Whiskey and finish some games. Without electricity the whole thing is of course only in the glow of candlelight:
