7th to 9 August
Well, I was back in KL
... while Qizhen was stuck in Taiwan. Arriving at the station, I was then it figure out how my Hostel come. When I discovered there free WiFi, I found out conveniently that sought my hostel was already full, just like all the other hostels in the city, with one exception. So I set the fastest way towards Pujangga Homestay, where I got really lucky, with my now already 3 bags a place in a dormitory.
Later, two exhausted from the search backpackers were added, amusingly again two German. Has to be said modestly, my High German has benefited from the trip quite beautiful. With whom I was then what dinner and end with one, two beers for the evening.
Saturday:
The next morning I decided to look for me a new hostel, then on the day another was released that had the internet a better ranking. And even though the hostel was almost around the corner, so to speak, I booked the same even in the room two beds for the next two nights, which turned out in retrospect to be very clever, because there were already waiting for some travelers it again, to be dismissed.
For the day I had made a bit of sight-seeing. For this I looked for the first tourist-bus, as I had done it with good experience in America. If convenient, you see everything and will babble nice too. Later, the expensive ticket but put something as a bad investment out. But at least I went once the whole round, KL.
The first stop I made at the National Monument. It was also found, however, first, from the bus stop from. Unintentionally, I ran it behind after a Chinese woman with her son, who also seemed to find something. Later, our paths crossed, and the son asked me if I also happened to be the National Monument was looking for. So I hung up on me right in two, and they turned out finally as Sweden. We then found the park with the "Monument".
Then we did a walk through the same in the nearby Orchid Garden, which however turned out as anything spectacular. By the way, Alf:
Later we went back further in the tourist-bus to the Merdeka Square, where I left them both. "Merdeka" in Malay means "independence", thus the Independence Square. Directly in front is also the Sultan Abdul Samad Building:
... and the incredible g with 95 meters high flagpole in the world * *:
I would have even tried to find the Jamek Mosque, which I am but unfortunately failed. maybe the heat was - Malaysia until now (at least emotionally) is the hottest place I ever was, however, should it later are in the south even hotter. So I hopped back on the air-conditioned bus and drove directly up to the obligatory Petronas Twin Towers. These were from 1998 until the completion of Taipei 101 in 2003 as the tallest building in the world, with 452 meters to the top.
The building itself will find a large shopping center and behind it a park with a few cafes.
Only few minutes drive away is the second KL's main attraction, the Menara KL Tower, a television tower, which houses the world's highest branch of McDonald's world.
Rauf dangers, I am not because it was time to Qizhen pick from the station, who had finally found to KL, after all the delays because of the typhoon. Later that evening we went to eat something and then treated ourselves to even a water pipe.
especially for Qizhen mood for Egypt. For he was as it were in transit. The ultimate objective was Egypt, where he is later able to make 1 to 3 years for an internship, but before that he wanted a little rumreisen in Malaysia, Singapore and Laos.
Sunday :
The next morning we took the bus to the Batu Caves, just outside the city, a limestone massif that traversed by a system of caves and is home to several small Hindu temple.
first to say but to climb the 272 steps. The statue represents the god Murugan dar. Yes, and despite belly free, it's a man!
So the main cave looks from the inside out:
Everywhere the smell of incense fills the air and with all the temple singing and the music and the many Indians, is actually almost as directly in India.
also lots of monkeys running one here on the way, just waiting for someone a little eating, drinking or just play like it can fall.
And as usual for the Hindu culture, there are of course lots of colorful kitsch to buy:
After we got back just arrived on the ground, we followed the first time our protesting stomachs and food were what, of course, Indian. And of course, is traditionally eaten with the fingers (even cutlery):
Full Frame was not, but passed for now hats. Then we went back by bus to the town where we went on directly in the program. First, the old Kuala Lumpur Railway Station:
And then time for the opening time for the National Mosque, where we had to take not only shoes, but also such a pretty frock coat had:
But what I have here at my first Mosque noticed: they are virtually empty inside * lol *:
Later we went also to the Jamek Mosque, which I had been looking for ever in vain. But even as a couple, we had some difficulty finding them. When we were looking for, it was already too late, for the mosque were just closed. But with the realization that mosques are empty inside, I was already satisfied myself with the sight from outside.
Then we went again to the Petronas Towers, where I Qizhen was the ideal place for the photo shoot. So I finally got on it the whole two towers.
Finally, we again made a side trip to KL Tower for up to drive for the view, which we then held the ticket price from it. So we contented ourselves once again with a water pipe, a beer from the 7 / 11.
