On Tuesday morning I arrived by ferry in Surat Thani, and from there I drove as said by bus and ferry to Koh Phi Phi. Here is a Photo of the ferry from Krabi :
On the crossing I met again two Dutch and two Thais who were indeed very little English, but happily a beer after another chirped and us with Thai hospitality offered one too. After more than half an hour we saw already the beginnings of the dream island
moved I'm like my bungalow, I had chosen the port of Krabi, and was somewhat disappointed. Had me for the high price of 700 baht per night even better what to expect, but good. I went first filling the stomach, again with sea views.
And then to the beach, where I borrowed me for an hour a kayak to paddle out of the bay, which turned out to be quite difficult, however. For it was not peak season but still monsoon season (albeit less pronounced here in the south) and so I had to fight against high waves and some strong gusts.
After exhausting 30 minutes I finally made it to the other bay.
From there we went relatively quickly the flow with back to the beach, where I witnessed just the end of the sunset.
On the way home I got me a delicious Bananenroti ...
... and I was pretty tired from the journey and the kayaking, I stayed the evening at the Bungalow and I looked at the Lapi the film "Slumdog Millionaire" at the time Jennifer had me loaded on my computer. Highly Recommended the film!
Wednesday:
Bin extra earlier risen to possibly make the day trip to Koh Phi Phi, with snorkeling and "The Beach" Ao Maya Koh Phi Phi Ley, Monkey Bay, Bamboo Iceland and the whole program. The travel agent told me but then, that even with the weather or the long-boats the speed boats were going. So I booked as a replacement program for this day for climbing with a guide. Although somewhat expensive, but it paid off.
to start again, I only made once a top rope route, a relatively simple 6 -. Since my climbing partner Noi - a native Laotian, residing in Thailand and with Swedish girlfriend * g * - that was then but too easy, he chose a 40 next tour. As the rope was grad mal 60 m long but, before he climbed to the top and I climbed after him then. Was a slightly more demanding 6 +, but I was happy when I was up.
Also, I was rewarded with this view. Here we can see the two bays of Koh Phi Phi Don.
was during this tour, our backpacks with supplies (water bottles and bananas), of course, unattended and so used a brazen monkey lady the opportunity to steal one of our bottles and drink it. Kindly, she left us at least the empty bottle.
After a further 4 routes I was geschlaucht enough and we went back into town. On the way I Noi yet recommended a new accommodation and a good restaurant - "Papaya" - which I was very happy. In the restaurant I went later to dinner where I met the two Dutch again, and we drank together a "Singha".
In Thailand will equal some really good beers, Tiger, Singha and Chang, however, are clearly the favorites. On the way back to the bungalow I bought later Mangosteen, another popular fruit in Southeast Asia.
From there we went relatively quickly the flow with back to the beach, where I witnessed just the end of the sunset.
